Foley Part II:
Resurrection
Post Foley’s initial death I began to feel that I had made the wrong decision by killing off the character, and that there was more to be said from the perspective of the character that couldn’t be done if he remained dead. This resulted in a soft resurgence of the character and its use. Foley was no longer defined by my tangible body and could instead be represented freely of myself and others. This Foley was totally unstructured, although he had a defined form there was nothing holding him to the real world anymore, delving him deeper into a representation of my conscious mind. Many new things became present in Foley’s world at this point, most notably the inclusions of mixed media collage and text. The text was important at the time as it gave Foley a much more defined out spoken voice which would be lossed for some time after this phase. This would stand to be Foley’s most abstract representation.
