Orange “OVER 21 AGE VERIFIED” wrist bands (weave)

A representation of overwhelming fear. The project began from the colliding emotions loss for my Uncle Mike who had passed away from a series of health complications brought on by weight gain and drinking, and the fear of dying and living life in a similar fashion that he had. As a way to cope with these feelings I began to weave using Orange “OVER 21 AGE VERIFIED” wristbands continuously anytime I felt my emotions spike in this area. In a sense the act of creating the piece became much more important than the piece itself but the physical object as well stands as a large bright orange warning to myself to not allow myself to fall into disarray as I fear I would.
