Conversation With Neighbors

Conversation With Neighbors is a piece rooted in a visceral experience in which my late grandmother had gotten into an argument with a neighboring timeshare owner. I don’t recall the inception of the argument but I do remember the words said on that fourth of July. My grandmother at this point in her life was suffering from serious dementia leading her to be confused often in situations so, when the timeshare owners next door got into a squabble with her she became frightened in a way I’d never seen before. My anger for this moment caused resentment for many of those choosing to visit on timeshares to my hometown and how poorly they were willing to treat my family and myself. A year after my grandmother's death I decided to create a physical representation of that fight in the form of nautical inspiration style signs you would often find hanging in a beach side timeshare.
